Mini Dresden Pinnie Tutorial

During the month of August, I made a pincushion every day for the pinnie parade on Instagram. I wanted to make a Dresden pincushion and printed out a template for a tiny Dresden.  Apparently, I printed it out wrong, because nothing worked out right.  I had to fiddle with the number of blades, the size of the center circle and the overall size of the pinnie to get it to work out.  But it was a happy accident and the Mini Dresden Pinnie was born.

Since, that original, I have made quite a few more of them and am thoroughly in love with tiny Dresdens.  I wanted to share the tiny Dresden love, so I have put together a little tutorial so you can make your own.

The tutorial can be downloaded here: Mini Dresden Pinnie Tutorial, or you can download the file on Craftsy as well.

The tutorial is fairly simple and intended for someone with basic sewing skills.  But, stay tuned! I will be putting together a series of blog posts with lots more pictures, plus tips and tricks for each step along the way.

Also coming in January 2018 –  The Tiny Dresden Party!  Join me on Instragram for a celebration of all tiny Dresdens… whether on a pinnie, a pouch or something else.  I can’t wait to see what people make with tiny Dresdens and I am planning to line up some fun prizes and giveaways for the party. I’ll share more info on that here and Instagram, so be sure to follow me on Instagram and sign up for email notifications for my blog below if you want to join in the tiny Dresden fun.

And please tag me and use #minidresdenpinnie if you share pics on Instagram.  I’d love to see what you make!

Special thanks to my tutorial testers and Instagram buddies: Cassie, Jennifer, Kristina, Lindsay, Kristen and Amber.  You ladies are the best!
